We spent our only dull day in and around Menorca's capital city, Mahon (also seen spelled as Mao). Lots of pavement cafes, clothes shops and boutiques all built high up on the cliff-side of the estuary. Looking down from here, was the waterfront, where you could take a boat for a guided cruise and informative tour of the city and its environment. This had been recommended to us, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to try it out ourselves.
In fact, the harbour is the main reason for Menorca's capital city being moved to here from its previous location of Ciutadella on the west coast in the 18th century.
