Placa des Burns or Plaza des Burn is the main square in the historic city of Ciutadella. From here you can peer down at the harbour - which is a narrow inlet, lined with cafes. Placa des Borns is the home of magnificent palaces, the Es Born Theatre and the Town Hall. The square here has an obelisk which is to commemorate the defence of the city in 1558, when it was under attack by the Moors.
This fortified city is attractive and with cool, narrow streets and warm, golden-stoned buildings. There are numerous shops, bars and cafes as well as fascinating architecture in the old quarter.
