We enjoyed Ciutadella - it is a lovely place to wander around and has some great shops and beautiful old buildings, such as the newly restored Cathedral of Menorca. If historic churches are your interest, then you should also have a look at the Episcopal Church at Santa Calra Convent, Sant Crist Church and the Seminary and Diocesan Museum.
Ciutadella is located at the far western coast of Menorca and easily reached by bus or hire car, being well signed from almost everywhere. It takes about one hour to drive from here to the capital city of Mahon. Close to this ancient city, there are many lovely beaches, used maninly by locals (such as Sa Caleta and Santandria), while further along the coast in both directions are some of the more popular resorts, such as San Bosc in the south or Cala en Forcat, Cala en Brut and Cala Blanes to the north of the city.
