This spectacular beach is right up in the north-west of the island of Menorca, past Ciutadella. It seemed to be a favourite of the locals and had virtually no other tourists there at all.
There is a very steep drop down to the beach from the road where we parked. You can get there either by a long flight of steps or a winding road. The sand is different here, too. It is redder and more stony. This is because of the red sandstone of the area. You may be able to see from this photo, that the water, whilst a truly deep, azure, blue, has stones and rocks under foot, which may also explain why it is not further developed for tourists. That and the long trek up hill after a day on the beach.
I must say, we were content to take this shot from the top of the cliff - it had been a long, hot day and we just couldn't face the walk all the way down and back!
